“The triangle depicts niho taniwha, the kaitiaki that protects what lies within. The centre koru pattern represents mauri. The supporting pattern on one side represents wairua, the other side kawa. Kawa maintains understanding and reverence of life. This maintains the wairua or spiritual essence which then protects life force or mauri.
