watering your vegetables

It may be that we usually water for the first week.  We tend not to do a lot of watering.  I think the plants then would create a dependency and they’d almost expect you to go out there and water them everyday.  So we only do it if its really needing to be watered.  I like the plants to be able to be dependant so that they will actually go down and look deeper for the water.  I sure wouldn’t let them dry out, in that sense.  We try and mulch and keep things pretty much around them to help retain the moisture.
