selling riwai at the market

geneva at the kerikeri farmers market

In previous years we’ve sold a lot at the market.  As I’ve said we’ve since downsized and we’ve got a smaller garden.  But certainly over the years we’ve sold a few tonnage of Maori potatoes.  Having said that, there’s only certain varieties.  There’s only certain varieties, and as I said we have seven varieties and we’ve only ever sold five of those varieties: huakaroro, urimeka, kowiniwini, kataroa and moemoe.  There are still some varieties that aren’t known to the general public.  And so for me, he taonga, I mean they always have been taonga.  So it’s nice to know that we still have something that’s still ours.
