kunekune a gardeners friend

Kunekune pigs are a gardeners friend when it comes to preparing the garden for planting. Kunekunes love rooting up the roots of plants which in turn prepares the ground for planting.

The Kunekune pigs happily do their job by eating all the left over plants, roots , and weeds in the garden. The Kune kune pigs do a brilliant job of clearing the plants in preparation for  replanting the garden.  It takes the pigs up to 2 weeks to clear a plot of garden.

They naturally contribute to the fertility of the soil by adding their manure. It is not unusual to have plants sprout up from where the pigs have been in the garden. Undigested seeds grow in the garden as they have passed through the pigs.
